Hey Lovelies! How many of you are marvelling at the fact that it’s just a fortnight to 2018??? Another year gone by!!! Woah!
Let us take a moment to be grateful for the year that we lived and be thankful for the blessing of a new year, new feels, new chances, fresh starts amidst the same dreams and many more sparkling new ones!!!
A year changes a lot, and 2017 has been the year when I actually dived headstrong into blogging!
I am a mother of a baby boy, who is turning 2 on the29th of this month and apart from motherhood as my full time job, blogging has given me a sense of belonging and direction to hone and cherish and nurture my passion for fashion and makeup 💋 💄
Although I would love to make my blog better and better, I am absolutely proud of how far I have come and I look forward to taking my blog and my passions to newer heights✨
Speaking of blogging, a person who means the world to me recently commented, “ there are some prerequisites to fashion blogging “, which translates to the fact that although I write well, I shouldn’t blog about fashion. Instead of receiving their support, I got this unexpected opinion…
Why? Because I am still carrying baby weight? Because I am not a certain weight, because I don’t fall into a pre confined standard of how a person should weigh and look? Because I am not extremely stylish all the time or because I wear Indian clothes predominantly?
Whatever the reason, I respectfully beg to differ! I believe no person should be restricted in their expression of something they are passionate about- whether someone likes it or not, they are welcome to have their own views – but nobody and I repeat, nobody should be allowed to make that choice for you! I shouldn’t have to wait to loose ten kilos or look a certain way to do something I love doing ! Beauty has no weight limit and I must say, life is happening now! You can’t wait to be ten kilos lighter to live your life!!! Live your life, love yourself and don’t be afraid or ashamed to express yourself!
I am a one woman army in my blog. I do have the help of my loved ones here and there but, I have put a lot of my heart, efforts, time and money to get this far in my journey and I take immense pride in saying this is me, my stories, my expressions, my love for fashion in my own unique universe!
So here’s to another year of growth, of writing, of fashion and makeup and self love and, many, many new and amazing things I am super excited to create!
Coming to this look, it is all about celebrating the Fall season and welcoming the Winters with the onset of Christmas & New Year festivities!
It is a look which screams Fall, yet the solid jewel toned colours are easily translated to the onset of winters.
I loved how me and my photographer Aminaz captured some amazing shots with the maple leaves and the golden hush accompanying them🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁
I loved shooting for this look, I am twelve pounds lighter here( I have started the process of shedding the baby weight not to look a certain way rather, for a healthier and fitter mind and body both!!!) and I loved getting clicked in the plush Forest Hill area of Toronto where I have recently bought my own home this year❤️
Checks and plaids are the highlight of this look, I wanted to do a print on print team up; along with the solid ruby toned check printed tunic, there is my check scarf, paired with denim jeggings and my rose printed glossy patent hand bag.
The Nude waterfall cardigan from Zara is one of my favourite ones and goes well to tie up the whole Fall-to-Winter vibe. Diamonte earrings accompanied with my choker are my quintessential jewelry pieces.
On the makeup front, I loved doing a combination of Dark Eyes+ Bold Lips a trend still very few dare to imbibe 😎
There is just something about winters that makes you go crazy for darker lip hues !
Lastly, how may I not mention the extreme, the heart warming, ga ga going, thrilling and hella heart eyes love that I have for my black heels🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
One of my most stunning shoe purchases of the year😍
Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas and a very Happy 2018, full of Love, Light and Miracles ⭐️✨⭐️
