I woke up to the rains the morning here ️
The weather is such a मस्ताना when it comes to Toronto!
It’s November , and lo and behold it has been raining … Well, if anything, it’s a preclude to the harsh winters just peeking at the corners and it buys us more time to enjoy whatever little is left of the fall
There is an unsaid and understated beauty about the weather these days, it’s just doing what it feels like! Pretty much like me
I am never the one to blindly follow trends… In fashion, I am guilty of going the opposite way. I have a distinctive style which is extremely Indian and I tend to stick to it.
There is something so ethereal which is reflected in Indian clothes, something so timeless yet modern, so vintage yet new, so glamorous yet so simple and this is the basic essence of my style philosophy…
The culture and elements are so beautiful that they make an impact just as is…
My life in Toronto involves mixing with the so called modern or western crowd, some of whom look at traditional as boring or outdated, yet, I choose to bring out an Indian element in whatever I wear- even the western dresses! And I am obsessed with it ️
When it comes to fashion, simplicity is my biggest asset. I dress not to get appreciation, rather to reflect my own idea and style. My style is just so Indian vintage I have never ever felt the need to tweak it.
Indian clothes and culture boast of an untouched beauty that can never fade
In fashion as in life, whenever given a choice, simple is the way for me.
Yes I also love going over the top, however, Simplicity is a Statement I swear by
I am comfortable, I am representing my dreams and I am putting forward my own style story… Not to seek validation but to showcase my own vision, to just be ME
Today’s outfit is just that- good old simple, basic and elegant- very ME
A solid blue anarkali with red embroidery thread work, blue churidar and a red net dupatta with mirror work.
Silver and Golden metallic sandals and a pearl beaded clutch, along with meenakari and pearl chandbalis from my mother’s wardrobe are the my accessories oh and not to mention my Bindiya
️The lovely simple red bindi, red lips and cobalt blue eyeliner
All I can say is, I feel festive, I feel comfortable, I feel like a rose, I celebrate myself
Oh and going back to rains, it had started raining when we were shooting for this look however, my lovely and talented photographer Aminaz and I decided to turn it in our favour… She’s captured the moments so beautifully ️
